1916 Collins Street

MI_1098

A photograph of Collins Street looking west from the Elizabeth Street corner around 1916. At this time Melbourne looked so civilised, so prosperous. The architecture of the major buildings was stunning, and the city's wide streets allowed the facades to be viewed in all their glory. Sadly, we only have these photos to remind us of what we have lost.
