A busy day on Swanston Street, taken in 1916. Looking South along Swanston Street, from the Little Collins Street intersection. Though the image is catalogued as 1916, there are no soldiers or War posters visible, so it may have be taken between 1910-1914.

Notes from the State Library of Victoria tell us that the image "Shows the Town Hall and its portico on the left of the image. A tram with the destination Queensberry Street proceeds north. A man with a bicycle stands in the right foreground, and the street has horse drawn vehicles as well as motor cars. A motorcycle and sidecar with a passenger at left foreground. Trees in full leaf show that the season is late spring or summer." From a series of photos by the Kerr Brothers.
