A Panoramic photo of the corner of Collins and Elizabeth Streets, taken in 1906. The GPO clock tower is on the left hand side, up Elizabeth Street, and the Town Hall clock tower is on the right hand side, up Collins Street.
Notes from the State Library tell us that the image is "Taken from the South West corner of Collins and Elizabeth Street, looking directly at Altson's Corner, the tobacconist's new premises. Includes portions of the Royal Bank and the Equitable Assurance Society's buildings on the adjacent corners. View extends up Collins Street and Elizabeth Streets as far as the Town Hall and Post Office respectively." Photograph attributed to Robert Vere Scott.
